3rd days!A trip to North Sumatra or Indonesia for that matter, would not be complete without a visit to the beautiful and world’s largest volcanic lake, Lake Toba or known as Danau Toba. Gosh!it's totally awesome man!their view and many kinds from lake to Batak were totally grate. For sure I would never forgot that time because Lake Toba is a beautiful and unique place to visit in Indonesia. It is just a few hours drive from Beratagi.Lake Toba is 100 kilometres long and 30 kilometres wide, and 505 metres at its deepest level. Lake Toba formed in a volcanic eruption around 75,000 years ago and was the largest in 25 million years. The volcanic blast was so large it deposited ash up to 15 cm all over India and up to 9 meters in Malaysia. Most of the plant and animal life across Asia was wiped out in the explosion.
It can be a great place to unwind as Lake Toba is extremely quiet and absent of the usual tourist hordes in places like Bali. Lake Toba is home to the Batak people who have a unique, interesting culture and are mostly Christian. Batak people are very friendly and welcoming, they love music and singing.
Samosir Island is located in the center of the lake. Ferries regularly depart from Parapat to take to you Samosir Island. Most of the hotels and guesthouses are located in the area of on Samosir Island. Many people who go to Lake Toba plan to only spend a few days there, but often those days turn into weeks!
